ABOUT COMMON-MODE
Common-mode ApS is a power electronics competence center, founded 2020 by Jan Sundvall.
At Common-mode, we offer a wide variety of services within power electronics development, on equipment ranging from a few Watts up to the MW range. Based on comprehensive experience and a strong track record obtained from the industry over the last 16 years, we strive to contribute and make a difference at any stage of developing, maturing or debugging/fault-finding on electronic power conversion equipment.
We strive towards a pragmatic and efficient work-flow based on common-sense and good workmanship and strong communication with customers and related partners. For us, providing a good and thorough solution for customers challenges is 1st priority.
At Common-mode, we appreciate creativity and thinking out of the box. We know, that in order to overcome power electronics design challenges, the products, procedures or test facilities may not exist in advance, or may be time consuming to achieve. Finding alternative solutions is one of our strengths.
To us Common-mode means common-sense!
FACILITIES
At Common-mode, we have our own in-house electronics laboratory and work-shop facilities, which helps us to achieve short time from ideas to solutions.
SERVICES
Main competences and services offered by Common-mode:
General electronics and mechanical design of DC/DC, DC/AC and AC/DC converters, both isolated and non-isolated topologies. Motor drives, wind turbine converters, converters for P2X, etc.
Half-bridge designs based on IGBTs and MOSFETs for any voltage and power level.
Gate drive circuit designs. We have comprehensive experience and understanding of gate drive designs and integration into the power converter environment.
Analogue circuits designs, for sensor feedback etc. for both HV and LV.
EMI correct PCB layouts. For example, integrated power electronics solutions, with all circuits combined on one single PCB.
Great experience and understanding of converter malfunctions related to transient effects, such as voltage, current, magnetic fields and temperature (dv/dt, di/dt, dB/dt, dT/dt).
Robustness validation and assessment (testing products beyond normal specification). From experience we know, that thorough robustness validation is vital towards achieving a good and reliable product. Robustness validation can be offered both in the initial design on schematic level before realization, and on existing prototypes and products. We emphasize, that robustness validation should be a part of the design work right from the beginning. Conducting robustness validation on a released product may be too late.
Failure root cause analysis. We have a great track record identifying even complicated failure root cause chains.
Design of filters, chokes, inductors and transformers.
EMI and resonance debugging towards achieving formal approval.
Measurement techniques to achieve reliable measurement results, even in noisy environments.
